Ham & Cheddar Quiche

This quiche recipe is a great way to make use of leftovers! You can also use deli ham if you'd like. The recipe is for a basic ham and cheese quiche, but feel free to get creative—try a different type of cheese or toss in some sautéed spinach.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made pie crust (or homemade, if you prefer)
  • 1/2 cup cooked ham, diced (or 200g deli ham, chipped into small squares)
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (or greek yogurt)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Roll out the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges. Make holes in the base of the crust using a fork to help it cook evenly.
  2. Preheat your crust until the edges are just slightly golden (approximately 10-12 minutes for premade pie dough).
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sour cream, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Pour the mixture in the crust.
  4. Spread the diced ham and shredded cheddar evenly around the quiche.
  5. Bake until the quiche is set in the centre and lightly golden, this could take up to 40 minutes.
  6. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with green onions if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.
