Elevate your steak night with this bold, flavorful coffee rub made with Tofino Coffee. The deep, roasted notes of coffee pair beautifully Hopcott Farms beef, creating a steak that’s smoky, slightly sweet, and full of umami. This rub enhances the natural flavours of the meat, making it a must-try for any steak lover.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Hopcott Farms beef steaks (ribeye or striploin)

  • 2 tbsp finely ground Tofino Coffee

  • 1 tbsp organic cane sugar

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix Tofino Coffee, organic cane sugar, smoked paprika, sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  2. Pat the steaks dry and rub them evenly with olive oil.

  3. Generously coat both sides of the steaks with the coffee spice rub.

  4. Let the steaks rest at room temperature for 20 minutes.

  5. Preheat a cast-iron skillet or grill to high heat.

  6. Sear steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting time based on thickness.

  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.
