Nothing goes better than ham and Swiss if you ask us! This pressed sandwich is crispy, melty, and full of flavour. Emmental Swiss, old-fashioned ham, and a few pickles take it up a notch.
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of Sandwich Bread
- 3-4 slices of old Fashioned Ham
- 2-3 slices of Emmental Swiss Cheese
- Butter
- Mayo and or Mustard
- 1-2 sliced Pickles
Tools:
- Cast Iron Pan
- Weighted press (pot lid, or a secondary pan works great too!)
Instructions:
- Preheat your pan: Medium/Low (A good grilled sandwich requires patience!)
- Prepare the sandwich: Butter the outsides of both sides of your bread, optional to add Mayo and Mustard. Place cheese slices down first, ham and pickles in the middle, and another slice of cheese on top to create a glue.
- Press: Add your sandwich to the preheated pan and place your weighted press on top, wait a few minutes, and then repeat on the other side - Low and slow is your mantra with this one.
- Cut & Enjoy: You'll know when it gets that golden crisp that it's ready to be devoured!
