Hopcott’s Nugget ham gets dressed up as a honey-glazed Christmas center piece. Sweet, sticky, and gently caramelized, it transforms from everyday deli classic to festive showstopper with just a warm glaze and a little oven magic.
Ingredients:
- 1 Nugget Ham
- 1/2 cup of honey
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or orange juice)
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves or all spice (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
- Lightly score the nugget's surface in a diamond pattern (optional but helps the glaze stick).
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, make the honey glaze by adding honey, brown sugar, mustard, and cider vinegar.
- Stir until the sugar dissolves and the glaze becomes smooth. Add spices if using and simmer for 2-3 minutes until lightly thickened.
- Glaze the ham with a generous layer of glaze.
- Cover loosely with foil and bake for 20-30 minutes.
- Remove foil and brush on more glaze and let sit uncovered in the oven for another few minutes.
- Let ham rest for about 10 minutes, then slice and serve with extra glaze on top!
Tip: Place ham on a bed of oranges while roasting for extra aroma!
