Karthein’s Organic Traditional Sauerkraut is obtained through the natural process of fermentation that creates gut-healthy probiotic bacteria. It's a crisp delicately flavoured European style sauerkraut. This variety goes well with homemade sausages, organic meats or veggie dogs.

Unpasteurized Organic Sauerkraut means the sauerkraut is never subjected to heat. High temperatures destroy naturally occurring digestive enzymes and beneficial bacteria such as various strains of lactobacillus.

    It all began with Joe Karthein’s vision: he wanted Canadians to experience sauerkraut at the height of its form—perfected. In 1999, he began producing Karthein’s Organic Unpasteurized Sauerkraut on his small organic farm in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia.
